The GATE program is an the educational program designed to address the learning styles of the students who have been identified as gifted and talented. Identification of students starts as early as third grade.
In addition to differentiating the instruction, GATE students, as well as other high achieving students may be placed in ability leveled groupings to better meet their needs.
This school year, 2016-17, Shirakawa school will invite its GATE students to participate in the Schmahl GATE enrichment after school classes. Invitations will be sent to GATE students after the Winter Break.
