Shirakawa Alumni Receives Collage Scholarship Thumbnail Image
Former Shirakawa student, Amanda Doan, is a senior at Yerba Buena High School. Last week, this 17 year old student was surprised in class when she was awarded $40,000 as the first recipient of a new San Jose Police Department college scholarship to be used for four years of tuition and academic expenses. Amanda visited Shirakawa School and spoke with former teachers about her plans for the future, as well as her process to get to where she is right now.

Our Mission

The Franklin-McKinley School District will ensure all 8th grade student graduates have the skills and knowledge to be ready for a college preparatory curriculum in high school. They all will have the ability to pursue a program preparing them for university and/or careers and lifelong learning.
