Ms. Perry, Ms. Moncrief, Mrs. Rivero, and Mr. Hanna are the 7th grade teachers. 


About this Grade Level

Language Arts: We will pilot a new Language Arts program. It is called AMPLIFY and is an on line course. Ms. Beckham will focus on writing and grammar and Ms. Roberts will focus on reading comprehension.

Math: The foci of 7th grade Math are ratio and proportion, the number system, expression and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability.

Science: 7th graders study cells and how they work together to form body systems.

Social Studies: Social Studies will cover the fall of Rome to the Age of Reason.

Physical Education: PE will focus on improving students’ physical endurance. Students in 7th grade will be participate in Physical Fitness Testing.

Homework Policy
Homework is a means to teach responsibility. All assignments are expected to be turned in on time. Approximate time spent on homework should be:
Reading: 30 minutes daily (Reading Plus)
Math: 30 minutes daily

Please be sure to check planners and Engrade for assignments, deadlines, and long term projects.

Textbook covers (4 or 5)
Headsets
3 ring binder with at least 5 subject dividers
3 pencils daily
1/4 inch graph paper composition book. (150 pages)
3 colors of highlighters
quiet place study
access to internet (home or library)
backpacks or book bag
composition book (150 pages)
