Ms. Ahuja, Ms. Roberts, and Mrs. Ferreira are the 5th grade teachers.
Miss. Ahuja began her career at Shirakawa as a student teacher in fourth grade in 2014. She became a fifth grade teacher in 2015 and is in her 4th year. Miss Ahuja is also this year’s Lead Technology Mentor at Shirakawa.

Mrs. Ferreira has been in the district for 19 years and is one of the original staff members since its opening in 1999. She has taught 1,2,4 and currently 5th. She is married with 2 teenage boys.About 5th GradeEnglish Language Arts:

Science will be the focus every other month. We are using the new Next Generation Science Standards.Social Studies:
Alternating months, students will focus on Social Studies. By the end of the year, students are expected to know all 50 States and their capitals P.E.
In order to prepare students for the California Physical Fitness Test in early spring, they are expected to participate in daily P.E. to build their endurance and flexibility.Expectations
